Cats are currently the most popular pet in the world. Owing to their close association with humans, cats are now found almost everywhere in the world. The most common prey of cats are birds and rodents such as mice. Cats have excellent night vision. Their whiskers are highly sensitive to touch. Cats have an acute sense of smell but they possess relatively few taste buds compared to humans. The average life expectancy for domesticated male cats is 12 to 14 years.
