With the model of the legendary railbus VT 98 / VS 98 of the German Federal Railroad, PIKO offers another perfectly tuned vehicle for use on model railway main and secondary lines with many highlights. For the first time, models in mass production of early series vehicles are offered. The railcar is powered by a powerful micro motor, which is equipped with flywheel masses for perfect running characteristics and has a factory-installed buffer capacitor for optimum driving characteristics without any sound interruptions. The drive acts on both axles of the railcar. Traction and control cars are coupled together via a current-conducting short-circuit kinematics. The lighting functions of both vehicles, i.a. The lamps above the driver's cabs can also be switched separately. Despite the constructive equipment of drive and control car a clear view through the passenger compartments is possible. The railcar can be prototypically used as a locomotive for taking along individual freight cars.
